milktea

milktea is an alias of Kamila, a DJ, and curator from Almaty, Kazakhstan. As a curator, she is interested in questions of identity, representation, and decoloniality. She is running a platform and a party series for FLINTA artists called 'Don't be a dick" through which FLINTA artists, specifically from Central Asia, can find support and connect to one another. As a DJ, she is a regular in Almaty’s lineup and has also performed in Seoul's Faust club, several places in Istanbul, and regional Central Asian festivals. She leans mostly into intense music but tries to mix genres and create a fast-paced but fun and playful atmosphere for everyone. milktea often plays around with techno, breakbeat, Latincore and occasional dark disco and industrial.
